Age
The acutal age of an actor.

Age Range
The range of ages that you could play.

Allow Contact
Who is allowed to contact you. "Registered Users" will let anyone with an Actor Hub account contact you. "Casting Directors" will only allow users who signed up for an Actor Hub account as a casting director to contact you (no actors). Note that anyone can sign up for an account and specify their account type, so someone with a casting director account is not necessarily a casting director.

Birthdate
Your actual birthday. Used to determine your age. No one will see the actual date that you enter. Just your current age based on your birthdate. This is so your age information is always current.

Body Type
Your body type.

Call Description
Long description of the call.

Call Is Live
The call is currenly live on the site. This means that actors can search for it and reply to it.

Call Title
Short description of the call.

Email Address
Your Email Address. You MUST enter a valid email address or you will not be able to activate your account. This is not displayed on the site. People who want to contact you will fill out of a form with their conact information and a message. This will be sent to your email address.

Ethnicity
Your ethnicity. Only one answer is allowed. Please choose the one that best descibes the way that you look (since the purpose is for casting roles).

Eye Color
Your eye color.

Featured Resume
Featured Resumes are resumes that randomly appear on the homepage. In order to be considered for being a featured resume, a user must select the "Would You Like To Be Considered For Featured Resumes" option on the "Manage Resume Info" Page. We run a search to find who has this selected and has all of the profile sections filled out (main info, pictures, at least 1 user defined section, etc), then we go into each to make sure everything looks good (spelling, etc). If so, we set them as a featured profile. We aren't too picky, as long as you have everything filled out and everything looks nice, you'll probabaly be approved. These resumes are on the homepage, not just for extra exposure for actors, but also as examples of what resumes on the site look like, so we do screen them to make sure they look good.

First Name
Your First Name

Full Name
Your Full Name. It is the way it will be displayed on the site. You can include middle initial, middle name, etc.

Gender
Your Gender

Has Pictures

Height

Is Searchable?
Whether or not your profile will appear with search results. If this is not checked, your page can only be accessed by someone going directly to your page. This could be unchecked if you are too busy to start new projects, but will want to have your resume searchable later or if you simply want to only have people that you direct to your resume see it.

Is Paying?
Whether or not there is monetary payment for working on the project.

Last Name
Your Last Name

My Actor Notes

Your password. You will need to remember it because it will be required every time you log in to the site

Password Confirmation
A conformation of your password. Makes sure you didn't mistype your password.

Pictures
You can upload up to 10 picutes with your resume. The first one will display with your search results. Small versions of the images will be created for thumbnails. When these are clicked on the full picture will display.

Projet Type
Types of projects that you are interested in working in. This is NOT necessarily the types of projects that they have worked on previously.

Replied Calls
Actors can search for calls that they've replied to.

Resume
Your main resume information. All fields are optional and empty rows will be skipped on your page rather displaying them with no information. But all fields are searchable and if you don't fill in a field that someone searches for, you won't show up in their search results. So if you don't enter an age and someone searches for actors that are 18 and over, you won't come up in their search results.

Resume Document
Your resume in either word(.doc) or .pdf format. It is optional. It will be available for download on your page. The information in it will not be searchable. So any information should also be put into the main resume information of this site. Only one resume can be uploaded.

Resume Sections
This is for other information that you would like to display with your resume. For example, a section could be "Film Experience", in it you can list projects that you've worked on and include information on each. These are blocks of text where you can write anything that you'd like. Other examples of resume sections would be "Stage Experience", "Acting Workshops", "Special Skills", etc.

Skills
Non acting skills that could be needed in acting roles such as singing, dancing, playing a sport, playing an instrument, etc.

Weight
Your weight in pounds.

Unions
Actors unions to which you belong. Note: this is an optional field. If don't click on any unions, it means that you are not giving an answer. If you click on "nonunion", it means that you aren't in any actor unions.

Your Links
The web address (URL) of your page. There are 2 and both are very simple and easy to remember. If someone types goes to the redirect link, they will be sent to the main link.

Zip Code
Zip code. This is used for location searches and to determine city/state locations of actors and calls.

Actor FAQ

Do I have to fill out all information for my resume?
No. None of the fields are required. When you don't fill them out, they don't appear on your resume. So if you don't enter your weight, it will skip displaying the field entirely when people view your resume so it won't look like you are skipping information. However, any field that you leave blank will not appear in any searches. So if you are 30 and don't enter your age, you won't appear in any search for age, even one as broad as someone looking for an 20 to 50 year old actor.

Why is my resume not in the search results?
Did you create a resume? Just creating an account does not automaticly create a resume. Once you have created an account, create a resume at the link to the left. Also, you're resume must be set to searchable (which is the default). If you have not created a resume, you will not show up in search results.

I don't have any unions selected in my resume. Why don't I come up in a search for non union people?
There is an option under Unions called 'non union'. As with any field, if you don't enter any information, the program assumes that you are skipping it. To skip the question, leave it blank, to say you are non union, you have to click on 'non union'.

I don't understand the "Custom Resume" Section, could you explain how this works?
Rather than creating predefined sections of your resume, this site allows you to make your own. This may be a little confusing at first, but it is much more flexable and lets you create a resume that is much closer to your paper resume. You can create sections such as "Goals", "Acting Classes", "Film Experience", "Theatre Experiences", "Additional Skills", etc. There are 2 kinds of sections: Text and Table. Text is the header (or section name) and a block of text below. Goals and Additional Skills would be good for this section. Table is slightly more complicated, but will good if set up correctly. You set up a Header (or title) and fill out the table columns. For this example, we'll set up a section called "Acting Experience". The fields could be "Title", "Year", "Role", and "Studio". Then you will see a form where you can enter information based on the columns that you've set up and hit "Add Row" to save it.

How do I know that the person contacting me is really a casting director?
You don't. Anyone can sign up for a Casting Director account. So as with answering any ads, use good judgement. (ie, if Steven Speilberg contacts you through the site and asks you to meet him at a hotel, it's probably not actually him)

Casting Director FAQ

What does it mean when my call is "live"?
When a call is live, actors can search for it and apply to it. When it is offline, the only people that can see it are actors that have already applied to it.

How do i know if my call is live?
A call is live if the is live option is set and if the the "offline date" was not entered or was not reached yet. The call will be offline wheter or not "is live" is set if the "offline date" is reached. To put it live again, either remove the "offline date" or change it to a future date.

Why can't I contact some actors?
Actors have 3 contact options: Only let Casting Directors contact me, Let any user with an account contact me, and Don't let anyone contact me. If they have their account set up so that they can't be contacted, you can't contact them.

Other FAQ

If your site is free to actors and casting people, who pays for site hosting and maintaince?
We get money from the sponser ads on the left of the page below the naviagation.

What are the advertisements on the left side of the page?
We subscribe to a service called "Google Adsenese". It displays ads on the site. That is how we keep the site free. We keep these ads out of the way, so they don't get in the way while you're navigating the site and they are all text rather than images, this makes the site load faster.

How can people contact me if they don't have my email address?
People who visit your resume and want to contact you will fill out a form with their name, contact information, and a message. This information will be mailed to you from the website. You will recieve an email from the Actor Hub contact form with this information.
